Karen Michelson


Karen is an accomplished business leader with extensive experience in both Talent Acquisition and Marketing. She has spent the last 18 years working with organizations ranging from Start-Ups to Fortune 50 corporations assisting them with developing their recruitment best practices.

Karen currently focuses on Executive Recruiter primarily in the areas of life sciences and biotechnology, with experience across all disciplines.  Karen’s consulting experience includes training leaders on developing sourcing strategies, recruiting process optimization, and training on the most effective interviewing techniques.

Karen is recognized for her keen ability to synthesize complex information very rapidly. This asset is instrumental in her success in developing targeted recruiting campaigns to attract candidates with subject matter expertise, cultural fit, and long -term growth potential.

In 1997, while living in Chicago, Karen co-founded Tiburon Group, a consulting firm whose mission was to help companies market themselves as employers of choice via the Internet. As a pioneer in this business segment, Karen and her partners built a reputation as one of the pre-eminent consultants in this area.  Karen has spoken at multiple conferences and published over 30 articles related to the topic of Talent Acquisition in the Internet Age.

Karen’s corporate experience in staffing includes head up the staffing at ICOS Corporation, a biotech company later acquired by Eli Lilly. Karen later worked as a staffing leader for Amazon and as the head of global staffing for PATH, a large global health non-profit.

Karen has an undergraduate degree from Cornell University and a MBA from Northwestern University Kellogg School of Management
